Looking up the Elevador de Santa Justa

Looking up the 45 metre (147ft) high Elevador de Santa Justa which links Lisbon's downtown, Biaxa (Low) district to the aptly named Bairro Alto (High neighbourhood). Originally steam powered this ornate elevator was built by one of Gustave Eiffel's proteges, which explains some of the similarities with that famous tower.

Now-a-days the lift is powered by electricity but it still has one of the best views in Lisbon from the top.
