Nice ocean and mountain views. Clean pool and garden area. Spacious and comfortable apartment and all the facilities you need. The restaurant on site is nothing special - but will do for a first night if arriving late. WiFi was acceptable. There aren't many options in the local village besides a couple of snack bars so a car is almost essential if you want to eat out. Ideal if you're just wanting somewhere quiet to relax though.
Casa Del Mar - Vistas Maravilhosas do Mar e Piscina is located in Ponta Delgada, just 16 miles from Santana's Traditional Houses and 19 miles from Girao Cape.

View is amazing, food was great (breakfast & bar), very clean. Staff is really nice and helpful. Although the hotel was fully booked, it didn’t feel crowded at all. Very calm and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely come back!
Facing the beachfront, Mediterrâneo Madeira offers 2-star accommodations in São Vicente and has an outdoor swimming pool, garden and terrace.

The rooms were a nice size and the beds were comfortable. There was a lift to save you from having to take bags on the stairs. The hotel was quiet enough and the roar of the waves loud as it was directly across the from the ocean which I enjoyed .The staff were friendly and thoughtful. The restaurant was good serving breakfast and then in the evening they had dinner. The hot tub was large but only really hot two of the four nights. The hotel was very clean and had many spots to sit and relax outside of the room. There was also a bar up a bunch of stairs that had a Birds Eye view.
Casa de Campo Arco de São Jorge by An Island Apart is located in Santana, just 10 miles from Santana's Traditional Houses and 18 miles from Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools.
Ponta Delgada is a quiet and beautiful place. From here you can easily travel in all directions of this beautifull island by car. Access to the Atlantic Ocean is rare. If there is an access, it is almost always rocky - you should be sure-footed here. There are hardly any sandy beaches, we didn't find any. During the season there is a small public swimming pool in Ponta Delgada.

Beautiful unspoilt village with a great pool by the sea that is popular with locals. Lots of lovely walks and amazing scenery as the mountains comes down into the ocean. Good roads to drive here as you come through the tunnels so 35 mins to Funchal and 10 mins to Sao Vicente.

We visited Ponta Delgada in October, maybe a bit out of season: it wasn't busy at all, and we found it very peaceful and very quiet of an evening, which was perfect for us. If you want a little bit more happening during the day, but still be well away from the busier areas of the island, you might find Porto Moniz up the coast an alternative, with busier daytime cafes and restaurants, dramatic ocean action and some great rock pools for swimming if that is your thing.
A car helped us get to other parts of the island: major road connections are good (to Santana is windier though), and plenty of great walks and wild countryside were within reach by car (we never drove more than an hour, often less.) Sao Vicente is the next town westwards by car, with cliff-side promenades and cafes/restaurants and a small supermarket.
Although there are one or two other places to eat in Ponta Delgada, we ate out a couple of times at the cafe opposite the hotel: very welcoming with freshly prepared tasty food from a basic menu.
There appears to be sheltered swimming at the hotel, though we didn't see it during the day (so cannot comment on use).
We found one path with steps that did take you along and down the coast a short way with access to a rocky shore, otherwise you can walk along roads which generally are pretty quiet.
We would strongly recommend our accommodation at Seaview House, right by the ocean front and very peaceful.

Quiet small town on the coast but no beach.
Quiet small town on the coast but no beach. The mountain is directly behind the town. Huge open air public swimming pool at the harbour - spotlessly clean. 3 restaurants, a couple of small hotels, 5 or 6 bars, 5 shops/stores, 1 petrol station, 3 cows 2 goats a few cats and dogs, 2 motor-bikes and about 3 cars zipping about regularly. The occasional tourist passes by every few minutes in their car. Best to grab a seat at the petrol station and sit with the old men playing dominos and watch the world pass by with a glass of wine . Offer the old men a free beer and watch how fast they move to the bar. Good walks and hills not too steep. A bottle of Coral beer is 1 - 1.5 Euro.
Lovely little apartment near the centre of Ponta Delgada. Super clean, comfortable, and modern! Excellent welcome instructions from the host that made our arrival easy (especially as we were two hours delayed). The balcony was great for evening drinks and snacks. The back garden is indeed shared, but we saw no one during our staff and it was a lovely spot for breakfast. Also loved the Nespresso machine for coffee! Nice touch.
Laundry facilities were very welcome!
Parking was super easy and on the flat (which is rare on Madeira!).
This is a hidden gem; a surprisingly enjoyable and simple aparthotel in an excellent location. It is situated literally next to the fantastic natural community pool and the Atlantic Ocean. Stunning views, The hosts couldn't be nicer or more friendly. Very comfortable room with full kitchen. The restaurant was quite good and handy as the village is quite small without many other eateries. They have a beautiful pool but it was closed for repairs when we were there in late October.
The owner is the best host you can even wish for. He really made us feel like we are at home. The hotel is nicely located, room was nice and clean, breakfast was simple but served with love. We enjoyed evenings drinks at the patio and also had couple delusions dinners made by the owner. We never felt so welcomed anywhere else. Would definitely recommend.
very good hotel for the price good location well kept from the outside and very well tended. well worth a visit when in the north of Madiera and very close to some good attractions. Generally the hotel was good and staff were more than good. it was clear the hotel needed an upgrade as they got their 4stars some time after the year 2000....
Very nice peaceful place.Modern, clean rooms with kitchenet.Very helpful, friendly staff especially Katya. There is enough parking.Would definitely return here.Locater about 40 min driving from Funchal.Best place to eat is town of Sao Vicente- 10 min drive from Hotel.Sergey and Olga. Toronto, Canada
Amazing place. Very steep mountain.
But complete privacy. Big spacious house... There is everything You need. Great kitchen, bedrooms...
A stream flows next to the mountains, levada trails are nearby. And the town of Ponta Delgada itself is very cozy. A beautiful ocean coast... :)
Wonderful place in Ponta Delgada. We stayed there for 10 days and we were very satisfied. Paulo is a really nice guy who always helps with everything - planning the trips, recommending a restaurant or just chatting. Stunning view from the apartment.
The house and the view are amazing. It looks just like on the photos. Ponta Delgada is a great place for quite and relaxing vacation. A lot of hiking trails are close. The market and a bar are just few minutes walking away. Absolute recommendation.
Good location, easy access from all the island. Lovely and helpful staff. Kitchen and all house fully equipped. Even the first aid kit. Very comfortable bed, clean apartment. Next to the hotel there is a shop with groceries and a coffee place
Absolutely stunning views! This hotel is located in a very small town so keep in mind there are limited restaurants or supermarkets around. The pool was amazing in a hot day. Each room had AC which was nice as it was super hot.
Beautiful spacious villa with a lovely pool on west facing terrace, meaning lots of sunshine and excellent sunset views. Ponta Delgada is a small and friendly village, well located for access across the island.
