We absolutely loved everything. The house and our room were exceptional. Large, spacious and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern with a great shower. The bed was very comfortable and so quiet at night, we slept really well. Our host Joanna was kind, friendly and thoughtful. Always on hand to help or give advice and very quick to respond. The house is in a brilliant area, in a lovely suburb not far from the city center. Fantastic bus and metro links all within 5 mins walk and loads of great places to eat and drink very nearby, a ten minute walk. I would highly recommend staying here.

The best place where we stayed during our visit in Portugal! Joana was an amazing host and made sure that we were comfortable with recommending places. The place itself is a nice modern apartment located in a quiet traditional street with walking distance to a lot of famous landmarks and the train station Campamha. Buffet breakfast was also delicious with great selection!

The location of the property is fantastic. We specifically wanted to stay somewhere quiet and this did absolutely that, it is located on a nice quiet street but yet not too far from anything on foot. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was so very comfortable and the blinds and shutters at the windows allow a nice dark room, even first thing in the morning. Joana also left bottled water in the room which was a great touch. Joana was the perfect host, very helpful. We asked if we could drop our luggage off prior to our room being ready as we arrived in Porto on a very early flight, this was accommodated by Joana and not only that she then messaged us once our room was ready. She also made great recommendations for dinner.

Joana is not simply a host, she is a friend who welcomes you warmly and kindly, giving the common areas of the building at your full disposal. Once there, we were even advised on the most interesting and entertaining places in Porto, making our stay easier to enjoy the city. Everything is also facilitated by the surroundings where you have the subway, groceries, bar, restaurant, and if you wish, the city center 10 minutes walking from the building. One point I would like to emphasise is the delicate and discreet room care Joana and her staff provided. Although we had left the room very messy, we found everything perfectly clean.

The moment I walked through the door, I felt at ease. Aside from the lovely building and immaculate accommodation, I found true hospitality here. Joana caters to guests’ needs with minimum fuss. The continental breakfast was a thoughtful selection of the freshest fruit, breads, pastries and cereals, as well as a cheese/meat board. This guest house ‘sets the bar high’ and its location is a very manageable distance from the town centre. I’ve tried similar accommodation in the heart of Porto, however in my view, ‘O da Joana’ is a far superior option.
