Located in the historical city of Lamego city, Casa de Monsanto is the perfect place for families or groups of friends to enjoy the Portuguese summer with a private swimming pool and barbecue area.The house is located in a quiet and pleasant street, overlooking the Serra das Meadas and the landscape of Douro, with good accessibility to the historic center, either on foot or by car. ￫ The pool is seasonal and it's open from May 1st to September 30th. ￫ Coal and firewood are not provided. ￫ Barbecue must be left clean. ￫ On Saturday mornings (9 am to 1 pm), the gardener will be on site to maintain the garden. ￫ Please leave the Sun Umbrella closed when not in use (especially on windy days). ￫ The automatic irrigation takes place at 06:00 and 22:00. ￫ Surveillance cameras are turned off when guests are at the property. ￫ Please leave garbage in the containers and the house in the same condition as you found it. ￫ Pool in operation, however may be under maintenance without notice. ￫ During the stay, the guest is responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of the property's keys. Please avoid leaving them in the lock or mailbox. In the event that a specialized technician is needed for door opening or in case of damage to the key and/or lock, the costs associated with this service will be the responsibility of the guest. In case of key loss, a penalty will be applied.

Neighborhood info

Most people come to Lamego – a prim, prosperous town 10km south of the Rio Douro – to see (and possibly to climb) the astonishing baroque stairway that zigzags its way up to the Igreja de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios. The old town centre itself has a mix of winding narrow lanes and tree-lined boulevards, with spotlit medieval landmarks looming from almost every angle. Connoisseurs also swear by Lamego’s raposeira, the town’s famously fragrant sparkling wine, which provides a fine break between bouts of port. Lamego is a natural base for exploring the half-ruined monasteries and chapels in the surrounding environs, one of which dates back to the time of the Visigoths.
