Just 200m away, you’ll find the subway station (Baixa-Chiado) and the historical Tram Nº28, famous for its breathtaking city views. Venture yourself through the steep traditional stairways into the 3rd floor, and discover a friendly and playful atmosphere just waiting for you. The decoration is cool and elegant, but very relaxed.The living room is bright and luminous. Its two windows allow a privileged view over the typical Lisbon roof tiles, at the same time they invite the pristine Lisbon light in. Feel free to turn on the vintage radio, enjoy the board games or read the books we left in the house. The bedroom is cosy , so you can rest from your busy and eventful days in Lisbon. The sofa in the living room also turns into a comfortable bed for one extra person. The kitchen has all the equipment you’ll need to enjoy your stay, from a casual breakfast to a full course dinner. You can get groceries from small stores in the neighbourhood. We really hope to make you feel at home!

CASA DA ESPERA got its name from its street address, Travessa da Espera (“Alley of the Waiting”). For centuries, it has been a meeting point for friends, where they would wait for each other to explore Bairro’s nightlife together, hence originating this peculiar street name. Hopefully, CASA DA ESPERA will also be your gateway into the unique Bairro Alto district. CASA DA ESPERA is in Bairro Alto, the center of Lisbon's nightlife, so it's possible that the noise of the streets may bother you at night. Keep in mind that CASA DA ESPERA is on the 3rd floor of an old building with no elevator, whose stairs have very tall and narrow steps. Passages on the doors are also narrow, so it is not advisable for small children or people with mobility difficulties.
