A Faded Jewel in need of refreshment BUT you can't take away from the beach and its amenities. Signs of new cafes and restaurants starting up, but the impression is the crowds come from the city anyway so why make a huge effort :-) There is no real centre as we could see, just a linear settlement unlike villages up the Marginal or further in towards Lisbon.EugeneIreland - 6.0Scored 6.0
Parts of Carcavelos away from the train line are actually...
Parts of Carcavelos away from the train line are actually quite nice. It's quite a sleepy little town outside of summer. The main beach is really for surfing not swimming. We were there in September and the water was already too cold. There are some nicer beaches to swim at close by but not really serviced by pubic transport. It doesn't really have a great number of good restaurants and feels a little bit like a town than the locals commute into the city from. Probably more of a day trip from Lisbon as opposed to somewhere to base yourself for a large amount of time unless you intend to surf.

Wonderful part of Portugal . Close to the wonderful Lisbon and it’s spectacular coastline to Cascais etc . Great beaches with good waves and spacious beaches. Fantastic food and drink options . Very pleasant town and is extremely safe

Very nice and charming location on the Cascais coast. Great restaurants and shops. We ate downstairs at the Atlantic Restaurant several times(excellent). A very well situated town for the ones who want to visit Lisbon and other tourist attractions. A very good and cheap public transport. Very clean, wide and safe beaches. Possibility to walk along the coastline. Numerous shops and restaurants. Helpful natives. Clean air.

The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the pillows get paper thin after 2 minutes. Hotel would benefit from a makeover. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. The breakfast buffet is really good, and the bar for a late arvo beer watching the football is really nice. The location is just amazing, 3 mins walk to Carcavelos beach, shopping mall with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets right next door. Definitely recommendedRui MansosSingapore

Comfortable bed, clean linen and good quality towels. Good contact with the owner. Efficient check-in despite late arrival. Close to the beach, shop and train station that connects you to Lisbon.

The beds were firm with good duvets and there was a small safe in the room and fridge. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a great range of food items. It was excellent value for money being a short walk to the train station and the beach. Would happily stay here again.

The owners were so kind and thoughtful and nothing was too much trouble . I would recommend staying here . The train is 10 mins walk away to get you to Lisbon or Cascais . The place is in a residential area but is only 10/15 mins walk down to the beach . Great place !!!
