Belém National Palace

The Belém National Palace (Palácio Nacional de Belém) is the official residence of the president of Portugal.

Originally built in the 16th century by the nobleman Manuel of Portugal, the palace became a royal residence in the 18th century.

The palace is set overlooking the gardens of Afonso de Albuquerque Square and towards the Jerónimos Monastery and river Tejo beyond.
