Praia da Falesia
This sleepy residential town is known by the locals as 'beach town' and has managed to preserve something of its traditional Portuguese lifestyle. Backed by cliffs (falesia is Portuguese for cliff) decorated with pine trees the beach is accessed by steps that lead down from a clifftop car park.
The sheer size of the beach and the laid-back atmosphere of the town contribute towards making this one of the more peaceful corners of the Algarve, although it is well-served by several top-class golf courses, a smattering of restaurants and bars and a number of accommodation complexes. Conveniently located between the towns of Vilamoura and Albufeira this quaint little town and its long, gorgeous beach are easily accessible by public transport.
