what you should know
A car is a must and there are at least four companies which hire them direct from Faro airport(contact me if you need advice). The journey is then a simple drive down the motorway to the beautiful parts of the western algarve. There are some lovely rugged parts of the coastlines with secluded beaches a short distance drive from the apartment which means if you want to go for long walks away from people this is possible. If you want bars and restaurants then Lagos is a very short taxi ride(1.5miles) and it also has lovely markets and shops. It would suit both those wanting a more active/beach/family holiday, or avid golf lovers as well as those wanting to get away from it all.
