A variety of self-catering apartments within the grounds of an exclusive private estate, perched above the old town and overlooking the bay of Funchal. Enjoy a pleasant and friendly residential location, where you can find local shops, colourful botanical gardens and orchid farms within walking distance. A 10 to 15 minute walk will bring you to the old, picturesque town of Funchal with its many good restaurants and farmers' market. Bus rides are frequent and taxis are reasonably priced. All apartments have balconies offering sea views, or a terrace with a garden. Relax beside the outdoor swimming pool with its sun-bathing area, and unwind beneath the warm sunshine and blue skies.

Although Quinta Mãe dos Homens is primarily a self catering facility, it offers many of the services and amenities you would expect from a far larger type of establishment. Centrally located is the solar heated swimming pool, surrounded by a terrace with umbrellas and sunbeds. Beside the pool there is an honesty bar designed to keep you refreshed whilst whiling away those sunny days. Above the pool area you will find the clubhouse which has a lounge, a small library, cable television and a terrace with fabulous views over the bay of Funchal. Next to it is the dining room which is used for weekly informal barbecues, and for breakfast (optional, pre-booking required). There is complimentary iron and ironing board on request. For winter evenings a heater is available for hire, should you require it. Safes are also available for hire.
