Nestled in the hills to the east of Funchal. Casa Velha do Palheiro is situated just 7km (15 minutes) away from the centre of Funchal. The Casa Velha is in the centre of the 100 hectare Palheiro Estate, which is bordered by the Championship Palheiro Golf Course and the renowned Palheiro Gardens. Many of the centenary trees in the gardens were planted in the early 19th century. The Palheiro Golf Course was chosen as “one of the 6 most stunning golf courses in the world” by Golf Monthly, in November 1999.
