Quinta da Aldeia is a small exclusive development situated on the edge of the village of Figueira amongst the gentle rolling hills midway between Lagos and Sagres. Quinta da Aldeia is within easy reach of the small fishing village and beach resort of Salema, which is about a 5 minute drive away by car and the two local beaches, although more difficult to get to (one is a 25 minute walk and the other at the end of a very rocky track) are spectacular and well worth the effort to find. There are other nearby beaches to choose from along this marvellous stretch of coastline, particularly as you move further west. The golf course at Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resort is five minutes drive away and Boavista Golf Resort is within a ten minute drive.

Description

The houses at Quinta da Aldeia are positioned around a central pool with a small pool for children, surrounded by beautiful mature gardens. The pool, which is heated from Easter until the end of October, is gated and there are ample loungers for those wishing to soak up the sun. Casa do Sol has two bedrooms on the first floor. One bedroom has patio doors opening onto a balcony overlooking the garden and pool and both are furnished with twin beds. One of the bedroom wardrobes has a safe fitted. If required, a Z bed can be provided for a child. There is a ground floor cloakroom and a separate full bathroom on the first floor which has a bath with shower over. The lounge/dining area is comfortably furnished with dining table to seat five, a three piece suite, log burner and satellite TV (free channels – BBC1, ITV). The kitchen is equipped with a washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave and full cooker. There is a terrace to the rear of the property with outside dining furniture and two sun loungers.

Casa do Sol is used regularly by the owners, family and their friends throughout the year. However, it is available for letting during the summer weeks and other specific periods – a quick check of the calendar will answer your availability query.

Casa do Sol is only a short distance away from Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resort, where guests can enjoy a full range of activities, including the challenging golf course, golf academy, championship bowling greens, Spa Floresta Health and Beauty and tennis courts. Description

There are numerous good restaurants to choose from in Figueira and the surrounding area of Budens, Salema and Raposeira and the lively cosmopolitan town of Lagos is a 15 – 20 minute drive away. The Marina dominates the river at Lagos, as it opens into the sea and you can choose activities such as deep sea fishing, a dolphin seafari trip and yacht hire. Lagos is an historic town with some city walls still standing after the earthquake of 1755 and there are several museums and churches worth a visit. This is a working Portuguese town with markets, shops and plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from.

The fabulous west coast beaches, where the surfing is renowned, are only 15 minutes drive away from Casa do Sol and the Monchique hills and the historic old capital of the Algarve, Silves is a 45 minute drive to the east. A car is essential, not only for your holiday enjoyment but to gain an appreciation of just what the Western Algarve can offer.
