Estalagem Solar dos Marcos - Bemposta

Solar dos Marcos is a historic palace reconstructed from an old episcopal accommodation (18th century), located in the village of Bemposta, where D. Manuel Martins Manso, bishop of Guarda, was born and lived. The Bishop Martins-Manso will have added the chapel to the original building, in honour of the Virgin Mary, in the 2nd half of 18th century. The hotel is situated in the Arribes del Duero nature reserve, ten minutes from the Spanish border and a must-see spot to enjoy this unique area with nature treasures, ancestral traditions and friendly people.

Solar dos Marcos is a classified 4-star Real Inn with 8 double rooms (one room adapted for disabled people), one suite, various facilities and a private chapel. The building has been also classified as Excellent Architectural Value by the Portuguese General Directorate of Tourism.
